HSEM provides services to industry and government to ensure proper identification and characterization of contaminants and hazardous materials. Our team has completed site assessments at commercial, institutional, government and residential properties in Canada and the USA. Services include comprehensive Phase I, II and Ill ESAs for property transactions, facility management, facility decommissioning, storage tank system removals and operational due diligence, in response to government compliance requirements and spills or leaks.
Phase I ESA
HSEM’s Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA) inform clients of environmental issues such as business operational hazards, and current and historic recognized environmental conditions that may degrade property values or pose a financial liability.
Capable project managers assigned to each project ensure strict adherence to industry standards. The Phase I staff have extensive experience in the field with dedication to details, guaranteeing the information is accurate, informed, and timely.
HSEM’s standard Phase I ESA conforms with the most recent revision of ASTM E1527, and Canadian Standard Association (CSA) Standard Z768-01, for Phase I Environmental Site Assessment.
Phase II and III ESA
Quite often an initial environmental assessment identifies recognized environmental conditions that require further investigation to determine whether a property has been adversely affected. Whether HSEM is evaluating potential risks identified in a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA), defining the lateral and vertical extent of suspected contamination, or collecting technical data prior to site remediation, HSEM recognizes the importance of working with the client and regulators to set clear goals.
Phase II and III Soil & Groundwater Investigations require up-to-date knowledge of federal, provincial and local regulations as wells as technical expertise in geology and engineering. HSEM personnel have successfully completed hundreds of subsurface investigation projects on schedule and within budget. HSEM’s standard Phase II ESA conforms to Ontario Regulation 153-04 and CSA Z769-00, for Phase II Environmental Site Assessment
